First visit to Queenstown
The drive across the state of Tasmania to Queenstown on the west coast is full of wonderful views and interesting places to stop. The photos above offer a glimpse of the temperate rainforest that dominates the slopes of the steep ranges and mountains dotted with the beautiful leatherwood trees which were in full bloom and humming with the sound of busy bees. The town is nestled in a valley and sits in the shadow of the Mount Lyell copper mine which has been in operation for a long time and is the main source of income for the towns people. Some of the features of the town include the gravel football oval (ouch), Larq Gallery, the Queen River which is a shade of bright orange and the close vicinity to so many spectacular views and forest walks.
