Kaye Green

Kaye Green has lived, worked and exhibited in Japan, the USA, Belgium, New Zealand, Finland and most Australian states. She has had over 20 solo exhibitions and has been involved in numerous group and mixed exhibitions both nationally and internationally.

Kaye was born in Ulverstone in 1953 and following a year as an exchange student in Japan in the early seventies, completed her BA in Visual Arts at the Tasmanian School of Art in Hobart and her Master’s Degree at the University of New Mexico. During her time in Albuquerque she also studied at the prestigious Tamarind Institute of Lithography.

Kaye has completed a number of commissions and her work is represented in many national and international public collections including the Australian National Gallery in Canberra. She has won the Silkcut award for lino prints, The Waterhouse Works on paper award and the Friends of the Tweed River Regional Gallery award.

Lake Birds

I looked at the lake, the rocks and the trees where I usually find inspiration for my work and then I looked at the sky and the clouds where I also often find inspiration. Then I wondered about the birds which fly above the lake and started to imagine what their view of the lake might be. I then decided to make a series of collaged birds which visit the lake each year.
